Petite Parlour Elopement Shoot

Petite Parlour Elopement Shoot

When my Dad and I drove out to get Pearl the first weekend of March after a lot of back and forth with the restorer, I had a pit in my stomach. I thought it was just because all of the stress this guy caused but i was so excited to finally get my stream and finally move forward with my dream. Well as many of you know we only made it a 100 miles or so before the whole thing literally fell apart!

I was devastated, shocked, depressed, and so sad… But little did I know that what would happen in the months following would be so incredibly  amazing. I’m not saying it wasn't the hardest summer of my life but it was worth every single second. I have to give credit where credit is due and I am going to try and thank each and everyone of you that has been such a huge support all summer.

I was sitting with my dear friend Jasmine aka master of everything and who just opened up Jasmine Lilly Bridal and she was like “Alaina… you have to do a kickstarter! What happened to you is fucking awful and people need to hear your story”! Honesty, I had no clue what a kickstarter was but Jasmine’s help and encouragement was the kick in the ass I needed to not bury my head in the sand but to rise above and make shit happen.

So needless to say I am forever grateful for my friend Jasmine. We had several meetings in the weeks that followed and made a plan, reached out to amazing women in the community and before I knew it we were ready to launch a kickstarter campaign with five events in that time to showcase what Petite Parlour was to be.

With all the amazing vendors, this elopement shoot came together perfectly.

I immediately got into action contacting people to see if they wanted to collaborate. Every single one of these amazing woman, and a couple awesome dudes said yes...and it all came together. My dear friend Sarah and her soon to be Husband Sam agreed to model and the scene was a petite elopment. We shot around and in Mable, the old historical Story Mill, golden hour at the top of drinking horse, and finished with cake and dancing the night away around the airstream.

We had SO much fun and I am forever grateful for all who collaborated. Little did I know that this process would throw me right into the wedding community but more importantly , I gained some very special friendships.
